AIRFRAME AND POWERPLANT LICENSE SOLDIER SUPPORT GRANT
ROLLING APPLICATION PROCESS - APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED YEAR-ROUND
BACKGROUND
In 2018, the AAAA National Executive Group recognized
the need to assist Army Aviation Enlisted personnel pursuing professional
development while attending the testing phase of Airframe and Powerplant
(A&P) License courses. The NEG authorized individual merit-based $500
scholarship-type grants for selected Soldiers to ensure that real support is
provided for them during this testing phase after they have completed the
course work online which is paid for by the US Army, and during the actual Testing
itself which is paid for by the US Army. These awards are for the period they
need to travel and stay over for the testing phase to help offset their personally
incurred costs for this education. This program was created in alignment with
the “Recognize” and “Support" pillars of AAAA seeking to support Soldiers.
