Application Eligibility

In order to apply for an AAAA Scholarship you must meet one of the following criteria:

  •  You must be a current member of the Army Aviation Association of America, or
  •  the spouse of an AAAA member or deceased member, or
  •  the unmarried son or daughter of a member or deceased member, or
  •  the unmarried brother or sister of a member or deceased member, or
  •  the unmarried grandchild of a member or deceased member.

In all the above instances, the member's effective date must be on or before May 1 of the previous year in which the applicant is seeking aid, unless the member is deceased. This requirement is waived for uniformed members of the Active Army, ARNG and USAR. The applicant must be attending an accredited college or university or selected for fall entry as an undergraduate or graduate. No recipient can hold concurrent AAAA Scholarships.

Scholarship Application Procedure

The deadline for receiving 2014 scholarship applications has passed.  We are no longer accepting new applications.

All 2014 Scholarship winners have been notified.

Check back in January for instructions on applying for a 2015 Scholarship.

Following is a list of the supporting documents required in addition to your application. All documents must be submitted to AAAA by June 1 of the same year. 

References – to be completed by two individuals, not including relatives, who are aware of the applicant's abilities and potential. Mandatory for all applicants.

School Recommendation – to be completed by a school official - principal, dean, headmaster, class advisor or guidance counselor - who has direct personal knowledge of the applicant's overall performance as a secondary school student. Mandatory for freshmen applicants only.

Teacher's Recommendation – to be completed by a teacher who has direct, personal knowledge of the applicant's classroom performance. Mandatory for all applicants.

Academic Reporting Form – to be completed by the appropriate school official who has access to the applicant's academic history. Mandatory for all applicants. Grade point average is required for all applicants; test scores and class rank is required for entering freshmen; GRE general test scores are required for graduate students.

Current Transcript of Grades – the official grade transcript for the applicant's secondary school or college must be provided. Mandatory for all applicants. Graduate applicants must also provide their undergraduate grade transcript.

Proof of Admission to an Accredited College or University - proof that the applicant will be attending an accredited college or university in the fall as a student must be provided. Mandatory for all applicants.

Photograph – a photograph is required to be used for publicity purposes. Mandatory for all applicants.

Be sure to have the I.D. number before you begin filling out the application form. You will not be able to save the form and return to it later.

NOTE TO GRADUATE STUDENTS:  The graduate student application requires a 250-word essay. 

Freshman Application -- for those applicants entering their first year of college.

Upperclassman Application -- for those applicants entering their sophomore, junior or senior year of undergraduate school.

Graduate Application -- for those applicants pursuing a graduate degree. A 250-word essay is required to complete this application.
